SBC/CIR/118/2018
02nd November, 2018

The Chair of the Conveyancing Sub-Committee had a discussion with the Pengarah Pejabat Tanah Dan Galian Selangor (PTGS) and his Officers to address and identify the problems at the PTG Land office last week which was primarily due to the increased number of presentations made at the PTGS at this time of the year leading to year end .

As a temporary measure and for purposes of managing the surge in presentations, the PTG has implemented a numbering system whereby a certain amount of numbers to the counters are released periodically, firstly at 8.30 a.m. (1st batch) and again at 11.00 a.m. (2nd batch) respectively.

Our Conveyancing Sub-Committee made a request for an additional batch of numbers to the counters and the Land Office agreed to issue a 3rd batch of numbers at 2.00 p.m. with no specific limitation of running numbers as per their "Hebahan" dated 29/10/2018.

The Sub-Committee also requested for the service of the counters to be fully optimised and as a result, nine (9) counters were open as of 31/10/2018 and 01/11/2018.

This temporary measure on the numbering system shall be uplifted once the surge in presentation subsides and returns back to normal.

Upon observation on 31/10/2018 at 12.45 p.m., the presentation counters were managing well and the running number at that material time was 88. It was also noted that there were runners who did not respond when the numbers were being called up.

The Conveyancing Sub-Committee is constantly liaising with the PTGS to monitor the progress of this temporary measure.

The Selangor Bar Committee has received a notification from the Pejabat Tanah Dan Galian Selangor (PTGS) regarding the above.

The said notification is reproduced here for easy reference.

Thank you.
