The new Selangor Bar Website at www.selangorbar.org is now operational and almost fully complete!  It is intended to make access to information from the Secretariat quick and efficient for all our members, in any area of the Selangor State.

Its features are:

A.HOME/MAIN AREA

1.Notices/Articles: 5 latest notifications from the Court, Land Offices and other authorities will be published here, as well as articles on various events held by the Selangor Bar Committee or other matters of interest for members.
2.Scrolling Notification Bar: a scrolling bar at the top of the website will keep members quickly informed of issues of interest and latest news headlines.
3.About Us/Overview: An introduction on the formation of the Selangor Bar Committee.
4.About Us/Selangor Bar Committee: An introduction to the Selangor Bar Committee members, their portfolios and pictures.
5.About Us/Selangor Bar Sub-Committees: An introduction to all the Selangor Bar Sub-Committees, their function, events and contact details.
6.About Us/Secretariat: Information on the Secretariat staff and their portfolios.
7.About Us/Organisational Structure: An explanation on the organisational structure of the Secretariat.
8.Useful Links: Over 30 links to websites useful to members and the general public including the Malaysan Bar and State Bar websites, Judiciary & Legal Services, Royal Malaysian Police, Legal Resources, Online Media/Newspapers - Local, Regional and International.
9.Contact Us: An online form through which members or the public may contact the SBC to address any issues, directing their message to any specified member of the Committee.

B.MEMBERS' AREA

1.Publications: Download SBC publications, such as the Annual Report, AdRem, In Memoriam.
2.Library: information on our Library including list of Book &Law Reports, book purchase suggestion and Library Rules & Regulations.
3.Download Forms: enable download of various forms available at the secretariat, including subscription forms, registration forms for talks and events.

*Members' Area is only accessible to members who have registered and obtained a password from the administrator, at the top right hand corner of the website.

C.PUBLIC AREA

1.Directory: Membership list, i,e. list of lawyers and law firms in alphabetical order.
2.Public Awareness: downloadable leaflets for members of the public, explaining basic legal procedures on various areas of law
3.Legal Aid: information on the Legal Aid programme & associations with various NGO groups, pupils' timetable and activities
4.Classifieds: Advertising on the website, for Legal Vacancies (vacant positions in law firms for lawyers, legal clerks, administrative & general staff, pupils-in-chambers, attachment students), Conference and Seminars, Legal Products & Services and General Classifieds.
[For those interested, please note that our advertising charges (in our standard format) is a minimal RM20/week for Selangor Bar members and RM40/week for non-members].
5.Calendar of Events: Listing of all SBC Events in an easy-to-use calendar form.
6.Courts' Listing: Access to Court Cause Lists provided to us by the Courts in Selangor, according to date. Also links to the KL Bar and Judiciary's website for cause lists of neighbouring Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Courts respectively.
7.Photographs: Access to photographs taken at various Selangor Bar events.
8.In Memoriam: Access to write ups and eulogies on members who had recently passed away.

D.OTHER FEATURES

1.Recent Postings: Links to 10 most recent previous postings in the Notices/Articles section.
2.Archives: Search of old notices/postings.
